The 3 wisemen

I was searching online for my new business suit and I found out this online store called “3 wisemen”  based in Auckland, New Zealand.

The brand 3 Wise Men was born three years ago after a discussion between three friends over a few glasses of red wine. Since then it has notched up considerable success, achieving 300% sales growth year on year.

A classic business case of ‘clicks and mortar’, it has opened four retail stores throughout New Zealand alongside a successful online shirt store, which accounts for approximately 12% of the brand’s total sales.

Last month,  Kiwi men’s fashion business 3 Wise Men opened its first Australian store in Sydney’s Paddington District.

Given how well the brand has been received by Kiwi blokes, Managing Director Richard Miles says the time is right to launch the brand in Australia.

“We’ve received a hugely supportive response from Kiwi men, so we feel it’s about time to show the Aussies a thing or two about men’s fashion,” says Richard Miles.

“We’ve also been inundated with requests to open in Australia from Aussies who have fallen in love with the 3 Wise Men concept and product while visiting New Zealand – as well as loyal Kiwi supporters who have crossed the ditch.

“Not to mention the size of the prize if we get it right! The Australian market is a lot larger than New Zealand, so this is a logical step for the brand’s continued expansion.”

Richard Miles says the location of 3 Wise Men’s first retail store in Australia is perfect.

“Paddington is the perfect fit for the brand,” he says. “It’s a little quirky but a real up and coming part of town, which lots of trendy designers and upmarket boutique operators are gravitating towards.

“Finding the right location took a lot of time, but we are pleased with the site we’ve chosen – what’s more Hugo Boss has just signed up to be our neighbour – they obviously know a thing or two about fashion!”

The philosophy behind the 3 Wise Men brand is to provide a range of good quality cotton business shirts that don’t cost the earth – all shirts retail for $120 or there is the option of buying 3 for $300.

There are approximately 60 different shirt styles and 100 tie styles on the shop floor at any given time, with four or five new styles injected into the range every four to six weeks.
