From Computer monitors, keyboards up to printers cords dropped off at Westpac Stadium carparks last Saturday in connection with National Eday .
In Wellington More than 1,998 cars joined the event organized by Computer Access New Zealand. While I’m shooting some footage for thesidestrip. I met Mr. Laurence Zwimper ,the Chairman of Computer Access New Zealand and have a little chat about the eday.
Mr. Zwimper said e-waste contains many valuable and scarce materials that can be recovered and reused for new products instead of being dumped in landfills.
According to him, His organization are trying to refurbished some of the computer items and distributed to schools and communities who needs it.
Equipment collected on eDay is being transported to Auckland and Dunedin where it will be sorted to accredited recycling companies in South Korea for recycling. You can check the video from thesidestrip, click here
