Breast cancer is the most common cancer among New Zealand women, with more than 2500 new cases expected this year – also approximately 20 men will be diagnosed.
According to New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, more than 600 women will die from the disease this year – making it the leading cause of cancer-related death in females.
Tomorrow is Pink Ribbon Day with a nationwide Street Appeal by New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Volunteer Area Co-ordinators and collectors will be out on the streets gathering donations in return for a pink ribbon.
As you can see, October is internationally recognised as Breast Cancer Action Month and is The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation’s major fundraising event. Check their website here.
